EnergySmart Homes ran a highly competitive RFP for leading HVAC and energy efficiency contractors that serve Westchester county. After a formal written response, panel interview, and additional vetting, AMHAC was one of a select few to be invited to join the EnergySmart program.

Air Source Heat Pumps
- Air source heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by moving heat between your home and the outdoor air. They are designed to work efficiently even in cold Westchester winters, keeping your home comfortable year-round. By replacing or supplementing traditional HVAC systems, they can cut energy costs and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
- Air source heat pumps can be both “ductless” i.e. minisplit wall mounts or “ducted” like traditional cooling-only central air conditioning systems.
- AMHAC’s electrical department is trained in setting up air source heat pumps as standalone heating and cooling systems or with integrated controls combined with legacy fossil fuel furnaces and boilers to increase energy efficiency.
- Carrier and Mitsubishi are our recommended air source heat pump manufacturers, however AMHAC works with all makes and models (it’s in our name!). Both Carrier and Mitsubishi offer ducted and ductless solutions.

Ground Source Heat Pumps / Geothermal
- Ground source (geothermal) heat pumps take advantage of the steady temperature underground to deliver ultra-efficient heating and cooling. Because the earth stays at a consistent temperature below the frost line, these systems provide reliable comfort in every season. They are one of the most sustainable technologies available, offering long-term savings and dramatically reducing carbon emissions.
- AMHAC has installed dozens of geothermal systems in Westchester, and these systems can not only provide heating and cooling, but domestic hot water and radiant heat.
- Quiet and hidden: geothermal systems don’t have any outdoor condensing units and produce very little noise during operation.

Heat Pump Water Heaters
- Heat pump water heaters use electricity to pull warmth from the surrounding air and transfer it into your water, rather than creating heat directly. This makes them two to three times more efficient than conventional electric or gas water heaters. They provide the same reliable supply of hot water while lowering energy bills and cutting your home’s carbon footprint.
