Energy recovery ventilators represent one of the most effective tools for this purpose. These devices bring in fresh outdoor air while capturing the heating or cooling energy from the outgoing stale air, so you gain fresh air without wasting the money you spent conditioning the interior. The result is a steady supply of oxygen-rich air, lower carbon dioxide levels, and the removal of odors and chemical fumes that would otherwise linger. Balanced ventilation also helps regulate humidity and reduces the pressure imbalances that can pull unwanted air in through gaps and cracks.
